And then there were three!

North Bay Country artist Cory Marquardt has released his third single “This Man” which hit the airways on August 12th.

“I'm very excited to see how this single does at radio,” said Marquardt

“This is one of two songs I did not write on my album. I've been working with Rob Crosby since 2012 and he has been a great friend and a big part of my success in Nashville,” said Marquardt noting Crosby had help with the song courtesy of well known Country artist Eric Pasley.

“I added a little edge to it with heavy guitars and powerful vocals keeping it on the rock/country side of things and staying clear of that new ‘Bro country or Pop country sound.’ I think this song is going to do very well for me and I'm excited to see what happens with it!”

“This Man,” is part of the 10 song album called “This Man”, which Marquardt released back in May.  It already includes singles "Smartphone" and “21.”

Whirlwind tour

The release of his latest song goes in conjunction with what has been an incredibly busy year for Marquardt who started off the year with 18 tour dates crossing from B.C. to Manitoba in a 21 day stretch as part of the Outlaws and Outsiders Tour.

“We finished the second half of the tour in June Rocking eight dates across Ontario in 11 short days,” said Marquardt reflecting on the 2015 concert season.

“I played some great festivals this summer including Dauphin’s Country fest, Festival Country Lotbinere (Quebec City) , Big Valley Jamboree and the Calgary Stampede which included one of two dates I had with the legendary Toby Keith.  Both shows with him where sold out 4,500+ amazing country music fans.”

He says life on the road can be tough.

“I really enjoy being on the road and playing different stages, arenas, festivals but definitely value my time with friends, family and my dog Emma more,” he said.

“I have a blast on the road but there's nothing I miss more when I'm gone for a long time than those people and my furry friends.  I have to keep working hard and playing the road to get where I want to be.”

Marquardt will continue to work hard in hopes of creating more hits on the radio and a goal of one day headlining his own tour.  Locally, he hopes to see his new release get airtime on North Bay area stations.

“This next year is gonna include a lot of hard work, travel and dedication but I'm up for the challenge and ready to roll.  I can't wait to see whats next!”
