The most difficult time experienced in life is the loss of a loved one. Health care professionals, business professionals, and volunteers who deal with grief and loss will have an opportunity to expand on their knowledge when Dr. Bill Webster presents a seminar at the Life and Loss Conference on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday September 14, 2007 from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at the Davedi Club in North Bay.

This seminar is designed to help business and health care professionals cope with and understand their own grief as well as the grief experienced by their colleagues.

Dr. Bill Webster, a published author and Executive Director of the Centre for the Grief Journey is widely recognized as a facilitator for professional workshops. Widowed in 1983, Bill struggled to come to terms with his own loss, as well as the task of bringing up two young sons. After graduating with his doctorate in psychology in 1990, Bill began facilitating grief support programs.
In addition to two half-day seminars on COPING WITH GRIEF IN THE WORKPLACE, a public seminar on COPING STRATEGIES FOR LIFE AFTER A LOSS will be presented in the evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Davedi Club.

The Bereavement Committee of Near North Palliative Care Network (N/PS) is organizing these seminars with the financial assistance of N/T Palliative Care Initiatives #1, the North Bay & District Association for Community Living, Hillside Funeral Service Ltd., Canadore College, McGuinty Funeral Home and Martyn Funeral Home.

The public must register in advance for these seminars by calling Near North Palliative Care Network at 497-9239. There is a fee of $25.00 for the ½ day seminar; however, there is no charge for the evening seminar. Donations to the Near North Palliative Care Network are always welcome.
