There have been no new fires in the East Fire Region on July 7.

Currently there are 10 active fires in the region. For more
information please click here http://forest.lrc.gov.on.ca/AFFM/fire/interactivemap/firemap_English.htm to view the active fires map.

The forest fire hazard across the East Fire Region will remain low for July 8 while some pockets of moderate hazard are expected to pop up on July 9 before more rain is forecasted to dampen the region.

Summer evenings are a great time to enjoy family and friends, and share stories around the campfire. It is also a great opportunity to teach our future generations about fire safety. If children are present, ensure they are not running or playing near the fire. Keep your fire small, have a shovel and bucket of water on hand, and never leave the fire unattended. Leading by example is a great way to teach fire safety. For more FireSmart tips about safe campfires visit Ontario.ca/fireprevention http://www.ontario.ca/fireprevention.
