Joint Forces Unit to unveil details of major drug bust Update

Following the execution of several search warrants on February 5th The Joint Forces Unit charged 46 people with 265 drug related offences and siezed over $335,000 (street value) in drugs, $22,000 in cash, rifles as well as other drug related items.



Following the execution of several search warrants on February 5th The Joint Forces Unit charged 46 people with 265 drug related offences and siezed over $335,000 (street value) in drugs, $22,000 in cash, rifles as well as other drug related items.

The arrests are a result of an eight month undercover project conducted in the communities of North Bay, Mattawa and Powassan.

The Joint Forces Unit which consists of Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Section and the North Bay Police Service were executing several search warrants and arresting individuals yesterday on the 5th of Feb.
This was as a result of an eight month undercover project conducted in the communities of North Bay, Mattawa and Powassan.

A news conference will be held at the North Bay Police station on Princess St. W this morning, the 6th of Feb. at 10 AM.

The media will be brought in our lower lecture room before this time to allow set up and such. At this time there will be senior staff from both Services and there will also be a display of the seized items (weapons and drugs).
