North Bay, ON - The Jocko Beaucage Community Services (JBCSI) held a celebration in their newly furnished Community Centre today, thanks to a $13,300 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). Monique Smith, MPP for Nipissing District, joined OTF representative Joseph Lynch to congratulate members of JBCSI as their Auxiliary volunteers held their first brunch in the space.

“Our government recognizes the importance of the Jocko Beaucage Community Centre and the essential services that the dedicated volunteers here provide to the residents of Nipissing area.” said Hon. Monique Smith, MPP for Nipissing. “This investment will provide safer, more modern kitchen and hall equipment for everyone who uses the community centre to enjoy.”

The OTF grant was used to purchase a new Steam Table, tables and chairs and a new refrigerator for the well used community centre. “This grant will help the Auxiliary, seniors, volunteers, and local residents enjoy the centre,” said JBCSI President Terry Brent. “We hope to encourage more people to come and enjoy the comradely and friendship at the centre. We are thankful for the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s commitment to public health, seniors, and local resident’s social and recreational activities in our community.”
