Highway 11 reopened after head on crash

Temiskaming OPP say one person is dead after a head-on collision yesterday evening around 7 p.m.

The collision occurred on Highway 11, Armstrong Township. A southbound car entered the northbound lane where it collided with an oncoming van. 

Two people were involved in the accident. The driver of the car, a 17-year-old female from Timmins sustained only minor injuries. 

The driver of the van, Richard Hobson, 50, of Armstrong Township was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

The Earlton Fire Department and the Temiskaming Ambulance assisted at the scene. The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are helping with this ongoing investigation. 

Highway 11 was opened at approximately 4:45 a.m.
