The Town of Mattawa is very pleased to be in the TOP 20 nation wide for the WaterPlay Park Project as part of the Kraft Celebration Tour. “This is an absolute honour and truly exciting that Kraft Canada and TSN have recognized this project out of almost 400 projects across Canada” says Mayor Dean Backer. “Mattawa is now asking everyone to please support this nomination by voting from Thursday July 14 noon – Friday July 15 noon. Tell everyone you know…and vote as many times as you wish”.
Mattawa’s WaterPlay Park is pitted against the City Of Pembroke. “It’s like David vs Goliath but we are confident that everyone in the Region will take the time to vote for Mattawa” says Jacques Begin – Director of Tourism and Recreation for the Town of Mattawa.
“The WaterPlay Park would be a wonderful addition to the Mattawa Island Park which already offers activities such as tennis, beach volleyball, swimming, basketball and skateboarding. It would also serve as the catalyst that attracts children, families and visitors to the area” says Janet Russell who submitted the project nomination.
