From costumes to treats it proved to be a spooktacular day for area kids as they got into the spirit of Halloween across the region Wednesday.

Students at Ecole St. Vincent on King Street kicked the holiday up a notch by hosting their 8th annual Halloween Walkathon.

The students along with special guests from the North Bay Skyhawks, their teachers and parents paraded through the neighbourhood showing off their costumes and capped the event off with a party in the gymnasium.

The school was also celebrating the hard work and efforts of the students during their annual drive to raise funds for various school projects throughout the year. Since the start of school in September the students have been out in the community raising money and securing prizes for the school.

Principal Michel Page says he immensely proud of his students for their commitment and dedication in everything they do including the annual fundraiser.
