Flood watch remains in effect for Lake Nipissing

The Ministry of Natural Resources is advising area residents that the recent flood warning for the French River has been downgraded to a flood watch. A flood watch also remains in effect for Lake Nipissing and Sturgeon River.


While water levels continue to decrease, localized flooding due to wind is still a possibility for Lake Nipissing, depending on wind strength and direction.


The ministry continues to advise area residents to take necessary action to protect property in flood-prone areas, and exercise caution around fast-flowing rivers.


MNR is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions. Unless conditions warrant, further updates will be issued next week.
