Jay Aspin, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming, announced a seniors funding project today on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development (HRSDC) Canada.

Through the “New Horizons for Seniors Program”, The North Bay Golden Age Club, received $25,000 to assist with their facilities.

“I am glad to see a diversity of projects receive funding,” said MP Aspin. “From assisting with a major annual attraction to ensuring our seniors have better facilities, I know these projects will deliver good value to the people of Nipissing-Timiskaming.”

The funds received through the New Horizons for Seniors Program were granted by HRSDC and support community projects that that are inspired or led by seniors and focus on improving the quality of life of seniors.

“I am particularly glad to see the North Bay Golden Age Club receive these funds,” said MP Aspin. “Our Government has been focused on recognizing seniors for the valuable work they have and continue to contribute to their communities and Canada. I am pleased that the seniors at the Golden Age Club will have their facilities improved right here in North Bay. This Club is focused on the provision of first class effective and efficient programs for seniors. ”
