End local hunger by filling a firetruck with food! Reminder

North Bay Fire & Emergency Services know that the summer months are the most challenging time to keep the shelves of the Food Bank full so this summer they are going to do something about it.
North Bay Fire & Emergency Services know that the summer months are the most challenging time to keep the shelves of the Food Bank full so this summer they are going to do something about it.

Food Bank Manager Amber Livingstone conveyed her concerns with empty shelves and increased usage numbers, “Every summer food banks are starving for food to give out to clients. Here at the North Bay Food Bank, the donations have slowed down, but the need for food continues to grow.”

So the North Bay Fire & Emergency Services is teaming up with the community to offer their support and encourage the public to do likewise.

On Friday June 14th, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., North Bay Fire & Emergency Services will be at Wal-mart receiving non-perishable food items and cash donations for the North Bay Food Bank.

Fire Prevention Officer Sheri Korn is appreciative for the opportunity to partner with Wal-mart for such a worthy cause.

“Last year during Fire Prevention Week we held a ‘Fill a Fire Truck with Food’ campaign and we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community. We are happy to help and hopeful that with the assistance of the community we will be able to fill the shelves of the Food Bank.”

Donations will also be accepted during the month of June at all three Fire Stations.
