The Empire hosted another Forget Me Not Fashion Show yesterday and once again, this event proved to be a big success. This semi-annual event not only saw the latest in spring fashions, compliments of Alia-Tanjay and Sears, it also raised much-needed funds for the Alzheimer Society of North Bay.

As residents of The Empire were strutting their stuff down the runway, attendees were able to view women’s fashions, enjoy tea, coffee deserts, and local entertainer Don Brose. The Fashion show was once again a sold-out event, and raised $1,080 for the Alzheimer Society. To date, this event has raised over $11,000 for the Society.

All hands are on deck at the Empire to ensure the fashion show goes off without a hitch. Not only do residents of the Empire volunteer their time as models, there is a lot of behind the scenes volunteer work that goes unnoticed. From serving the coffee and tea to helping to dress and undress the models, the residents are working hard for a great cause.

“The Empire has been a huge supporter of the Alzheimer Society of North Bay & District. We would like to take this opportunity to thank The Empire’ residents and staff for their ongoing support and dedication to helping to better our community.” says Linda Brown, Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of North Bay and District. “Money raised from the Fashion Show will help the Alzheimer Society continue to offer programs and services free to the community. The Alzheimer Society is able to reach out and support members of the North Bay community who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and also their caregivers and family through support groups, education sessions and art therapy.”
