East Fire Region situation update July 8 as of 9:00 am

• No new fires in the last 24 hours
• Ontario FireRangers and related personnel assist in Alberta

There is one active fire in the East Fire Region. Timmins 3 is 1.6 hectares in size and is under control. No problems are anticipated.

The East Fire Region has sent more than 100 Ontario FireRangers and related personnel to assist in Alberta.
The forest fire hazard is low to moderate parts of the East Fire Region, with areas of high hazard. Always use caution with all outdoor fires and follow safe burning guidelines.

Under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario day burning of brush or grass is not allowed.

Burning of grass or brush may be done no sooner than two hours before sunset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise. Choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended. Remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site.
