Driver charged for impaired driving twice in a 24 hour period

North Bay – On October 25, 2010, at approximately 2:20 a.m., a North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 south in the city of North Bay.

The driver of the vehicle, Justin BOMAS, 30 years old, previously of Calgary Alberta, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle as per s. 253(1) (a) and with Over 80 as per s. 253(1) (b) of the Criminal Code. BOMAS currently being of no fixed address and was held for a bail hearing on October 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.

On October 25, 2010 at approximately 4:00 p.m., another North Bay OPP officer was conducting general patrol on Highway 63 in Poitras Township when he stopped two vehicles for a traffic infraction. The officer recognized the one driver as being one he had dealt with earlier in the day, Justin BOMAS.

BOMAS had attended his bail hearing earlier in the day where he was convicted of his charges, receiving a $1,500 fine as well as a one year prohibition order for driving.

BOMAS was once again arrested for Drive Disqualified as per s. 259(4) (a) of the Criminal Code and held for bail hearing on October 26, 2010.
