Chief Superintendent Ken Miller welcomes the newest member of regional command staff, Superintendent Scott Tod. Superintendent Tod has recently taken up his new post at the Ontario Provincial Police Regional Headquarters in North Bay as Director of Support Services for the North East Region. Within his new portfolio lie the regional responsibilities of financial management, staffing and development, contract policing, Aboriginal relations community policing, and media relations.

Backgrounder

Superintendent Tod has been a member of the Ontario Provincial Police for twenty-four years. Prior to his current posting he was the Deputy Director of the OPP Anti-Rackets Section and Officer In charge of the Phonebusters National Call Centre in North Bay.

From 2001 to 2004 Tod was a major crimes investigator with the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. In September 2003, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services designated the then Detective Inspector Tod a Multi- Jurisdictional Major Case Investigator for the Province of Ontario. He has lectured in the police community on Death and Homicide Investigations, Major Case Management and Criminal Investigations.

Tod has also served the OPP and public in a number of other roles and capacities including Detachment Commander in Temagami, Training Coordinator, Community Services Coordinator and has represented the OPP on national, international and provincial committees and partnerships.

Superintendent Tod is committed to fostering professional excellence through leadership that reflects OPP values and ethics.

Scott has been married for 23 years, he and his wife Nancy are very proud of the many accomplishments of their three children.
