Consumer protection workshop offered

Lots of fraud out there these days, and so North Bay Police are partnering with Consumer Protection Ontario to present a consumer education workshop, which will take place on Tuesday, September 16th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Lots of fraud out there these days, and so North Bay Police are partnering with Consumer Protection Ontario to present a consumer education workshop, which will take place on Tuesday, September 16th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the lower lecture room of police headquarters at 135 Princess Street West.

Admission is free. 

Newcomers, seniors and others from the community will benefit from this workshop, which will provide participants with tips on how they can better protect themselves as consumers.

Guest speaker Michelle Falone will cover a range of topics from identity theft to frauds and scams, from door-to-door sales to gift cards and smart shopping.

Falone is a public education advisor for Consumer Protection Ontario.

Consumer Protection Ontario is an awareness program delivered by Ontario’s Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and other public organizations that promote consumer rights and public safety.
