Community Foundation gives almost $45,000 to local groups

Collectively the Foundation has combined assets of more than $4.8 billion and put hundreds of millions back communities over its 94-year history

Local groups will benefit from the North Bay and Area Community Foundation to the tune of $44,536.

Community Foundations of Canada is the national network for Canada’s 191 community foundations. They help Canadians invest in making communities better places to live, work and play.

More than 85% of Canadian communities have access to a community foundation, from the  largest cities to the smallest towns.

Collectively the Foundation has combined assets of more than $4.8 billion and put hundreds of millions back communities over its 94-year history.

Local Executive Director Kate Merritt-Dupelle and Chair Patti Callahan announced this year's local recipients this morning at The Grande.

  • Alzheimer Society $4,000

  • East Ferris Golden Age Club $5,000

As well the group announced a fundraising dinner for Friday May 5, with a five course meal and auctions.
