North Bay took one step closer to becoming Kraft’s Hockeyville 2007 winner as the bid made it into the top 10 Sunday night.

The great Canadian Pond Hockey Face Off committee gathered at Fionn McCool's Sunday to watch the local bid featured on the CBC program. The North Bay bid featured the city's dedication to the sport including highlights from the recent Canadian Pond Hockey Face Off and Tom Hedican's Coach4Food program.

Now the city is encouraged to put North Bay into the top spot by voting at www.cbc.ca/hockeyville.

Voting will close at 11am EST this Friday March 9, with the top 5 bids being announced during Saturday’s Hockey Night in Canada show.

If the North Bay bid is named Hockeyville, they will win $50,000 for arena upgrades and a NHL exhibition game to be played in the city.
