Charges laid in Wednesday's motorcycle accident

Police say the driver of the van made an unsafe left turn which led to the collision.

Police have charged a 33-year old female driver in connection to the accident that occurred on Lakeshore Drive on Wednesday night.  

Following an investigation into a motor vehicle collision between a van and a motorcycle that took place on Wednesday September 14th at 5:17 p.m. at Lakeshore Drive and Marshall Avenue, North Bay Police issued a ticket to the 33-year old female driver of the van for “Turn – not in safety” under 142 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The van, whose driver was making a left turn from the centre lane on Lakeshore Drive towards a retail parking lot, struck the motorcycle whose driver was travelling in the opposite direction in the centre lane.

The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
