Expert advice on everything from aviation and skilled trades to graphic design and theatre arts is now just a click away, thanks to a new online, searchable directory.
The College Book of Experts - www.collegebookofexperts.org - provides users with the names of faculty experts from across Ontario. The site is searchable by college name, area of expertise, or by using an individual's name.
"There is a lot of expertise available for commentary, insight and information right here at Canadore," said George Burton, President of Canadore College. "We are extremely proud of our faculty members and want to share their knowledge wherever and whenever possible."
Ontario's public college system has more than 200 campuses and satellite locations across the province, serving every size of community. There are about 7,000 full-time and 12,000 part-time faculty members at the colleges. Ontario's colleges offer courses in more than 600 program areas. The scope of subjects taught has expanded enormously since the college system was established more than 40 years ago.
College programs are continuously evolving to meet the changing demands of the new economy. Just recently, Canadore's Board of Governors proposed five new programs for the Fall term: Civil Engineering Technician Ontario College Diploma, Diabetes Education Certificate Ontario College Graduate Certificate, Mobile Applications Ontario College Graduate Certificate and Financial Services Ontario College Graduate Certificate.
"This is a very exciting time at Canadore College, and we have many people to share our innovative good news stories," said President Burton. "The College Book of Experts will serve as a valuable resource to journalists."
Canadore College offers over 80 full-time programs with expert faculty in aviation, business, communication arts, health sciences, hospitality and tourism, human services, information technology, law and justice, recreation and leisure services and skilled trades.
