Everyone is invited to Mattawa from June 26 to July 1st for our 1st annual Canada Day Weekend of activities including Mattawa 125 commemorative merchant sales, music, food, fun and Canada Day events. Saturday June 27 will feature the closing ceremonies from Aboriginal week including a free concert featuring Susan Aglukark. Sunday June 28 will feature an all day Main Street Jamboree. Bring your chair and your appetite and enjoy the show, then visit the variety of restaurants and shops in the community. The Voyageur Days Harley-Davidson will be on display with a chance to purchase your tickets.

July 1st activities will begin at the Mattawa Legion @1pm with the celebrity dunking tank, games and music. Learn about some Mattawa’s history as you are encouraged to visit the Mattawa Golden Age where local families will have various displays on hand.

Canada Day Weekend of festivities will conclude at Explorers Point July 1st evening from 6-10pm. Families and friends are invited to bring a picnic, sit and relax and enjoy Mattawa’s newest musical group, “Just 4 kx” featuring Dan Sigouin, Gerry Nadon, Glen Ranger and Eddie Minor.

Canada Day would not be Canada Day without a great fireworks display at 9:30. Thanks to Mattawa’s Mayor Dean Backer and Members of Council.
