A 45-year-old Mattawa man has been arrested and charged after the local Ontario Provincial Police detachment responded to a complaint Wednesday night of a male brandishing a knife.
When police arrived at a Park Street residence, they learned that a man had assaulted a 20-year-old Mattawa man who was visiting there.
The 20-year-old left and the man who assaulted him obtained a knife and went looking for his victim.
The man was unable to find the 20-year-old and later turned himself in to the Mattawa OPP.
John Trodd has been charged with assault, uttering threats and breach of recognizance.
He will be in court this morning in North Bay.
