For the past three weeks, 18 budding artists have gathered at the North Bay Public Library for the Comic Art class. Led by local artist Gord Dufoe and assisted by Micheline Lavoie and Brad Jacobs, the participants have learned how to turn ideas and rough drawings into a finished product with script appropriate to the genre.

You can hear a pin drop in the auditorium as everyone diligently works on their artwork. “They’re a great bunch”, remarks Gord, his sentiments echoed by Micheline and Brad. The class will end with the artists being given a mini-comic of their work, which will also be put on display at the NBPL. Such fabulous and hard work deserves to be shown off!

The North Bay Public Library will be offering the class again beginning in September 2016 and will be offering many exciting programs over the summer, plus a book sale in July and a mobile planetarium visit in August. Yes, we’re bringing the universe to North Bay! Stay tuned for details by keeping an eye on the events section of our website and by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
