A 38-year-old woman from North Bay was charged with impaired driving and failing to stop Friday night after hitting a parked car in a parking lot.

Just after 11 p.m. on May 10, officers were called to a business on Pinewood Park Drive, about a possible impaired female driver, who had struck a parked vehicle as she was leaving. The driver did not stop after the collision and continued northbound on Pinewood Park Drive.

Officers later stopped the vehicle on Worthington Street East.  The woman was arrested for impaired driving.

During a subsequent search, a THC vape pen was found.

She was taken to North Bay Police Service headquarters for further testing which showed she had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream.

The woman, whom police did not name, is charged with;

  • Operating while impaired
  • Over 80 mg of alcohol
  • Failure to stop after a collision
  • Drive a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

The woman was later released on an undertaking with a future court date.
