Armed Forces Day returns this summer with Skyhawks Parachute Team

North Bay not on Snowbirds sked yet however

Some great news from the Skyhawks Parachute Demonstration Team.

It has released the summer schedule and pencilled in North Bay for Wednesday, June 22.

The information indicates that North Bay’s Armed Forces Day will return as an in-person community event that day. More details will be announced shortly. The event has been cancelled for the past two years because of COVID.

However, the Snowbird's schedule does not include North Bay. The CF-18 Demonstration team has often visited North Bay in the past. However a spokesmansays it is likely that North Bay will be added to the Snowbirds schedule in the next few weeks.

The SkyHawks are the Canadian Forces Parachute Demonstration Team. Based at CFB Trenton in Trenton they are a sub-unit of the Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Centre. The team consists of both permanent members and temporary members from the Regular and Reserve Forces.

In 2021, the Canadian Armed Forces cancelled the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team performance season 2021 as a result of public health and other considerations related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
