Algonquin accident proves fatal

An 80 year old North Bay man has died of his injuries after a traffic accident on Algonquin Ave. yesterday afternoon.

A second pedestrian, a 74 year old woman remains in critical condition in a Sudbury hospital.

Shortly after 2 p.m. yesterday the male driver of an SUV travelling north on Algonquin Avenue at Greenwood struck an 80-year old North Bay man and a 74-year old North Bay woman who were both on foot, crossing Algonquin Avenue from a parking lot on the east side towards a medical building on the west side.

Both pedestrians were transported to hospital in Sudbury. The man died early this morning.
