ACNBA to mark World Hepatitis Day Thursday

About 500 million, or one in 12 people world-wide, are infected with chronic viral Hepatitis B or C, two forms of potentially life-threatening liver disease. About 600,000 Canadians are infected and not aware of it.

Thursday, July 26th, 2012 the AIDS Committee of North Bay & Area (ACNBA) will mark World Hepatitis Day with an on the street event in the Ferguson Block parkette beside the CIBC on Main Street from 10:30 am till 1:00 pm.

Visitors will learn more about Hep C, pick up information, get to participate in fun activities and even enjoy a piece of cake. There will also be a draw for a free gift card for those who fill out a short survey.

When: Thursday July 26th, 2012 10:30 am – 1:00 pm

Who: North Bay Mayor Al McDonald will read the official World Hepatitis Day proclamation at 10:30 am.
