Members of the public are invited to participate in the second annual Controllers for Cancer Golf Tournament at the North Bay Golf and Country Club on Monday, August 16th, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

22 Wing/CFB North Bay member Master Corporal Wayne Kennedy founded the event last summer, when he duplicated the Controllers for Cancer Hockey Tournament held annually at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton using a summer sport. Both tournaments were created by members of the Canadian Forces aerospace controller occupation to raise money for their local Canadian Cancer Society branches. Some of the 8 Wing aerospace controllers will be entering teams to play in this year’s golf tournament.

This year’s planning committee hopes to exceed last year’s total of $1250 raised for the North Bay Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society. Activities in addition to golf include a chipping and putting contest, food and prizes. A social gathering hosted by 100 Georges (a $5 cover charge applies) will take place following the tournament.

Any golfers interested in playing in the tournament can call either Master Corporal Kennedy (705-494-2011 ext 6700) or Master Warrant Officer Michael Dussault (705-494-2011 ext 6494) by August 13th to register.
