13 year old charged with another two assaults in Elliot Lake

A 13-year-old, already facing nine counts of sexual assault, now faces additional charges after two more victims came forth.

East Algoma OPP arrested the teen again on June 6 as a result of an ongoing sexual assault investigation in Elliot Lake.

On May 5, police were notified by another victim stating they were sexually assaulted by the teen in February.  

Then on May 9, police were notified by another victim stating that they were assaulted by the teen in mid-May. They also reported that the teen damaged her cell phone.

On June 6, the 13-year-old from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age
  • Two counts of assault
  • Mischief - interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment, or operation of property under $5,000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 10.

The teen had already been rearrested for breaking an undertaking not to contact his victims.

On May 8, police were notified that the teen was again communicating with one of the previous victims by way of messaging via the social media platform Snapchat. Consequently, the 13-year-old was charged with two counts of failure to comply with the undertaking.

Previous to that on May 5 the13-year-old, from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Nine counts of sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking

All of the complainants reported being sexually assaulted by the same person.
