LETTER: Lack of permanent cricket pitch 'disheartening'

'Despite our efforts and enthusiasm for the sport, the journey toward a dedicated facility has been filled with obstacles'
2024-cricket

To the editor:

It's truly disheartening that our cricket team has been diligently collaborating with the North Bay City and Canadore College to establish a permanent cricket pitch, yet we have not met with success thus far.

Despite our efforts and enthusiasm for the sport, the journey toward a dedicated facility has been filled with obstacles.

It's indeed sad to note that while other cities across northern Ontario have received support from their city, college, and municipality for cricket facilities, our efforts in North Bay have yet to yield similar results.

Despite the lack of support from our own city, we have managed to compete at a higher level in the sport, consistently putting on impressive displays. Our team's dedication and hard work have allowed us to shine, even in the absence of the proper infrastructure.

We remain hopeful that our perseverance will eventually pay off, allowing us to bring the joy of cricket to our community in a more permanent and meaningful way.

With the necessary backing, we can continue to elevate our performance and bring pride to our community
