In response to Ms. Reed’s Letter “Capitol Centre needs better washroom access” on October 8, 2023.

We want to start off by thanking Ms. Reed for her patronage and for taking the time to bring forward her concerns.

We certainly agree that it would be ideal to have additional accessible washrooms on the main floor, however, we are limited by our not-for-profit budget and the space we have to work with. Renovations are costly, especially when working in a 90+ year-old building.

We hope that our additional accessible washrooms on the lower level will be utilized until a time when this is possible.

We are constantly working on projects that make the Capitol Centre a more welcoming and comfortable venue, and that includes increasing our accessible services and features. They are always on our minds and we strive to serve our community in the best way possible.

Moving forward, we will liaise with artists to increase the length of intermissions where the audience requires additional time
