North Bay council shouldn’t approve a short term rental bylaw with hefty fees until they understand how it impacts all involved – there are vast difference between vacant, whole-home rental businesses, ‘roomers’ and commercial cottagers. The ‘tax grab’ should reflect the reality of those differences.

Now is the time to get municipal candidates tied down to promises that might make a difference – like free bus passes for youth, seniors and disabled.
