North Bay Police and some media outlets have received unconfirmed reports of open water in the area of Parsons Avenue on Lake Nipissing.
Persons using the lake are advised to use caution whenever travelling on the ice near open water, and to use common sense whenever travelling on lakes at any time.

PERSON INJURED

A 17-year-old passenger on a City Transit Bus suffered injuries as a result of an unusual collision involving two City Vehicles today. At approximately 0905 today, a female passenger was disembarking the transit Bus at a stop on ski Club road. A westbound sidewalk plow that was sanding the sidewalk slid when it approached the rear of the bus, skidding sideways and pinning the pedestrian between the two vehicles. Emergency services from Police, Fire, and Ambulance responded. The victim was transported the North Bay General Hospital with injuries to her chest and arm. The injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The sidewalk that is approximately two feet higher than the roadway had a very icy surface with a downward slope from the sidewalk to the roadway. No charges are being considered at this time.

CELL PHONE MANNERS

On the 4th of March at approximately it is alleged that a father took the cell phone away from his 14 year old son for disciplinary reasons.

In reaction to this the male youth began punching holes in the walls of the home and also picked up a small table and began to smash things within the home. At one time he struck the father with a piece of the table. Csts. Andre Berube and Christian Elia of the North Bay Police were called and arrested the youth in question. He was charged with Assault With a Weapon, Mischief, Breach and was held for a bail hearing.
