ESCAPED PATIENT

On the 25th of Aug. shortly after 5 PM it is alleged that a patient in the Forensic Ward escaped from the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital on Highway 11 North.
Csts. Vince Corrente and Helen Boissonneault of the North Bay Police received the call and attended the area.
It is further alleged that a vehicle was stolen to facilitate this escape but was left abandoned on Hospital grounds.
The man was arrested a short time later.
Darcy DENOMME 23 years old of Highway 11 North is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Theft Over $5000., Possession of Stolen Property, Mischief Under $5000., Assault, and Operate Motor Vehicle While Disqualified.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

GOOD SAMARITANS

On the 25th of Aug. at approximately 5:30 PM while an off duty officer was grocery shopping within the city, he was attacked by an irate person.
Cst. Seth Dinsmore of the North Bay Police received the call and attended the store. It is then alleged that he and the victim officer began to chase the suspect and eventually caught up to him. It was at this time that due to the difficulty in subduing the suspect, 3 citizens came to the rescue and assisted the officers.
The suspect was eventually brought under control and taken into custody.
Derek DUNLOP 38 years old of Lakeshore Dr. is charged with Threatening, Criminal Harassment, 2 Counts of Assault, Mischief and Assault to Resist Arrest. He was kept in custody for a bail hearing.

STOLEN VEHICLE & ARRESTS

On the 26th of Aug. at approximately 2:45 AM Csts. Brad Reaume spotted a suspicious vehicle within the city. He approached the driver and eventually learned that the vehicle in question had been stolen from Sudbury. The driver when searched had a prohibited weapon on him, to wit a knife. A passenger was also arrested.
Luc QUESNEL 25 years old of Park Dr. in Wanapitae is charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Stolen property Over $5000. and 2 Counts of Breach of Probation.
Angelle Le Riche 20 years old of Pearl St. in Sudbury is charged with 2 Counts of Breach of Recognizance, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000. and Breach of Probation. Both individuals were kept in custody for a bail hearing.

BREAK & ENTERS

Overnight on the 24th of Aug. thieves entered a home in the First block of Second Av. E. At the time of report, only a pair of scissors was missing.

On the 25th of Aug. at approximately 1:45 PM it is alleged that 2 males kicked in the door of an apartment in the 700 block of Algonquin Av.
Nothing appears to have been taken and the description of the two is as follows:
1-18 to 19 years old, white, 6’ tall, slim build with a dark complexion and the suspect left on a bicycle.
2- 18 to 19 years old, white, 6’ tall with a dark complexion, heavy build and wearing a white ball cap and a loose fitting turquoise shirt.
