SMART SENIOR

The North Bay Police Service would like to caution the general public in the following scam.

On the 2nd of Sept. a senior was contacted by phone from a male person. This male identified himself as a bank inspector and that this senior had had some money stolen from her account by a bank clerk. Further that to catch this clerk, the senior should attend the bank in question and withdraw $4800. , then attend near a business location and turn this money over to the caller. Also that she not tell anyone of this transaction and to not touch the money with her bare hands.

This male called her several times inquiring if she was taking a cab to attend the bank and finally the senior said no because of her suspicions.

Our Service would like to caution the public that no reputable banking institution would act in this manner. Further, that if anyone has been contacted in such a way, they are requested to call their local Police agency immediately.
