Weekend
Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 146 calls for service that resulted in 11arrests two of which were for outstanding warrants. Offences included assaults, domestic assault, thefts, possession of marijuana, breach of court orders and public intoxication.
Arrest Warrants Executed
A traffic stop on Marshall Ave at 1:35 p.m. on the 22nd Nov resulted in both male occupants being arrested on outstanding warrants. Jeremiah McEdwards 21years and Eliah McEdwards 20 years both of Calgary were wanted for break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and failing to attend court. Csts Robin Boucher and Doug MacIntosh investigated.
Violent Criminal Sentenced
A man responsible for a violent crime spree on 24th Apr 2012 that involved a weapon, robbery, assaults, and sex offences was sentenced to a total of 23 years consecutive, and an additional total of 45 years that will run concurrently.
Wade Laporte 46 years had been charged with a total of 19 offences. In Oct 2013 he pled guilty to 12 offences and 7 charges were withdrawn. He was sentenced on Nov 4th 2013. The following is a breakdown of the sentencing.
Charges withdrawn
Two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, forcible confinement, robbery with violence, and aggravated assault.
