Over the weekend the North Bay police responded to 200 calls for service that resulted in 12 arrests. Offences included assaults, domestic assaults domestic assault with a weapon, fraud, possession of stolen property, breach of court orders, and public intoxication.

R.I.D.E. Stats

Over the weekend R.I.D.E. was conducted in four different locations resulting in 116 vehicles checked. No issues relating to alcohol or driving were identified.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

In August 2013 a break and enter of a cottage in Temiscaming Quebec resulted in a numerous items being stolen. Two of the items, a kayak and a paddle board were located by the owner at a pawn shop in North Bay. A subsequent police investigation has resulted Brandt Moore 29 years being charged with possession of property obtained by crime and fraud under $5000. Cst Aaron Northrup is investigating.

Break and Enter

At 4:00 a.m. on January 4 a woman woke up in her Coreen Cr. residence. She heard someone coming up the stairs and saw a man with a flashlight. She yelled and the man fled the residence. Property had already been removed from the premises. Items stolen include an IPod, an IPod dock, a laptop, 2 cameras, credit cards and a quantity of cash. Investigation revealed that several vehicles on the street had been ransacked. Cst Steve Brown is investigating.
