MADAME BUSTED

On March 5th 2008, the North Bay Police Service, Investigative Support Section in cooperation with the Operations Section, commenced an investigation into a business known as ‘Northern Lights Studio’ located at 191 Booth Road, Unit 14 in the City of North Bay. Northern Lights Studio purported to offer its clients ‘sensual’ or ‘erotic’ massages.

Police received information from several sources, including members of the Operations Section as well as from other non-police sources that Northern Lights Studio was a place being kept for prostitution and the practice of acts of indecency.

The investigation culminated in a Warrant to Search , contrary to section 487 of the Criminal Code being executed at 191 Booth Road, Unit 14, North Bay on April 3rd 2008. An arrest warrant was sought for one female.

Jennifer Lee McCaw, 24 yrs of North Bay, The owner/operator of ‘Northern Lights Studio’ was arrested today and has been charged with the offence of ‘Keeping a Common Bawdy-House’ contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is being held in custody for a bail hearing.

TRIP TO CALGARY

On Wed. the 9th of April Det. Csts. Denis Levasseur and Scott McFarlane of the North Bay Police were sent to Calgary to pick up a male in relation to an arrest warrant issued by our Service.

It is expected that this escort will arrive today.
Michael DASS 28 years old of No Fixed Address is charged with various charges as a result of an alleged incident that occurred on the 27th of January 2007 at a home in North Bay.

The charges are as follows:
Break & Enter and Commit
6 Counts of Forcible Confinement
Robbery
2 Counts of Assault
Using a Firearm in Commission of Offence
Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
2 Counts of Fail to Comply with Conditions of Recognizance
Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The North Bay Police had received information from the Hamilton Wentworth Police Service that in fact this man was in Calgary and our Service then contacted the Calgary Police Service who in turn arrested the suspect.
Mr. DASS will be kept in custody for a bail hearing.
