Robbery
At 1:50 a.m. on Dec. 26th a man was on Third Ave near Cassells St when two men attacked him. He was punched several times in the head, kneed in the face and a quantity of cash and a scratch ticket book taken from him. Suspect #1 is described as; male, white, late 20’s, clean shaven, 6 ft, 150 to 170 lbs, wearing light blue jeans and black jacket with hood up. The jacket may have a “Burton” logo on the front. Suspect #2 is described as; male, white, late 20’s, clean shaven, 6ft, 150-170 lbs, short dark hair, wearing dark pants, with lime green coat that has vertical yellow stripes on it. Cst Steve Carleton is investigating.
Assaults
At 2:10 a.m. on Dec. 27th an altercation at a north end bar resulted in a man assaulting two people and breaking a beer bottle to use as a weapon. William Laporte, 24 years old of 2nd Ave was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and 2 counts of assault. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing. Csts Steve Carleton and Dan Weber are investigating.
Break and Enter
An investigation into a Dec. 17th beak and enter has resulted in the Dec. 26 arrest of Brandt Moore, 29 years old of Melina Close. He has been charged with break enter and theft, fraud, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged he entered a residence, stole a chain saw, then pawned it alleging it was his. When arrested a small quantity of marijuana was found on his person. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing. Cst Sarah Kavanagh is investigating.
