Community Builders Awards: Steve Featherstone is an avid volunteer, athlete and champion of community events

Sports and Recreation Award recipient enriches Bonfield and North Bay’s sports and recreation scene

Steve Featherstone is always looking to better our community by creating opportunities for physical recreational and cultural activities for youth and adults alike.

Steve runs reptile camps and coordinates a variety of sports programs locally, ranging from martial arts, dodgeball, basketball, hip hop and everything in between. His goal is to make sports and recreation accessible to everyone, so he is dedicated to keeping costs affordable to ensure as many people as possible can participate without boundaries or limitations.

Steve volunteers countless hours coaching soft ball workshops for students at l’Ecole elementaire catholique Lorrain in Bonfield and organizes a variety of after-school programs for local youth.

Beyond sports and recreation, Steve is also known for championing fundraising initiatives for causes such as the food bank, service clubs and schools and taking part in community events that bring people together for a good cause.

Steve’s selflessness, resourcefulness and dedication to making all feel welcomed and included has helped to connect the people of North Bay and Bonfield, in sports and beyond.

The Sports and Recreation Award goes to the individual or group that has contributed to the strength of sport in the community.

Congratulations, Steve!

This award is proudly sponsored by Subaru of North Bay.
