Local election candidates debate going online

Questions about the environment, economy, education, Indigenous issues, foreign policy, and healthcare/COVID will be asked

The Nipissing University Political Science Program and the Nipissing University Student Union will be hosting an online federal election debate on Tuesday, September 7th at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

This will be open to the public. 

Candidates from the local Conservative Party, Green Party, Liberal Party, NDP, and the People’s Party have been invited according to a NUSU release. Questions about the environment, economy, education, Indigenous issues, foreign policy, and healthcare/COVID will be asked. 

The debate will be moderated by Tanya Matthews, a political science student at Nipissing University. 

Greg Galante is the People’s Party candidate, while Alexander Gomm will represent the Green Party, Scott Robertson the NDP,  Anthony Rota the Liberals and Steve Trahan carries the flag doe the Conservatives.

This event will be hosted on Zoom Webinar and will include closed captions. The only people visible on the screen will be the moderator, candidates and time-keeper.

The format will be: 

Opening Statements – 1 minute

Category Questions – 2 minutes each
