The Sudbury Wolves plan to honour the city of North Bay for being named Hockeyville 2007 at their exhibition game at Memorial Gardens on September 8th.

The North Bay 2007 Hockeyville Committee has been invited to the game by the Wolves and they are thrilled with the support from their Northern neighbours.

“We are flattered by the support we’ve seen from the Sudbury Wolves,” said 2007 North Bay Hockeyville Committee Chair Chris Dawson.

“The Wolves already purchased a bus sign locally to honor North Bay for winning the national competition and it’s just awesome that the CHL will return to North Bay just over a week before the Hockeyville game. It’s also a tremendous demonstration of sportsmanship and fair play as Sudbury would have likely hosted the Hockeyville game had top-5 finalist Noelville finished in front of North Bay in the 2007 Hockeyville competition.”

The Wolves will host the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies as the CHL returns to North Bay for the first time since the spring of 2002 when the North Bay Centennials were sold and moved to Saginaw.

The Wolves are also planning to host a pre-game autograph session which will include Wolves forward Jared Staal; whose brothers Marc, Eric and Jordan were all recent NHL first round draft picks. The Wolves also plan to make a presentation to the city and the North Bay 2007 Hockevyille Committee prior to the start of the game.

Tickets for the CHL interlocking game are now on sale at Memorial Gardens ticket office. All seats are priced at $10.00 (all age) and proceeds from the 50-50 draw will benefit the North Bay chapter of KIDSPORT. To reserve seats by credit card contact the North Bay ticket office at (705) 474-3770.

The North Bay 2007 Hockeyville Committee is made up of the Canadian Pond Hockey Face-Off committee which will host the 3rd Annual Canadian Pond Hockey Face-Off from February 15th – 17th 2008 at the Education Centre Pond behind Canadore College.
