The Sudbury Wolves will play a pre-season match-up at the North Bay Memorial Gardens versus the Rouyn Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) on Saturday, September 8th at 7:00 p.m.

The two member teams of the CHL will play an exhibition game in North Bay and join in recognizing North Bay as Hockeyville 2007.

The Wolves will face a tough opponent in the Huskies. Last season the Huskies finished nine games above .500 with a 36-27-3-4 record, good for 6th in their conference. With many of their top players returning, the Huskies are expected to be near the top of the league this season.

The Huskies are lead by 19-year-old defenseman Ivan Vishnevshiy. The big rearguard was a 1st round pick (27th overall) of the Dallas Stars in 2006. Also suiting up for the Huskies is last season’s leading scorer Michael Dubuc. Dubuc tallied 39 goals and 34 points in 70 games last season.

The Huskies also feature the Calgary Flames 2006 4th round pick Hugo Carpentier who had 54 points in 69 games last season and Maxim Macenauer, the Anaheim Ducks 3rd round pick from 2007.

North Bay youngsters will be able to obtain autographs from Rouyn’s and Sudbury’s top players this Saturday in the front lobby of North Bay Memorial Gardens. The autograph session will be held from 5:30 – 5:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets for this game are now on sale at the Memorial Gardens Box Office for only $10 per person.

Lucky fans will win some valuable prizes including an autographed print of Marc & Jared Staal. 50-50 proceeds will benefit the North Bay chapter of KIDSPORT.
