Wolves sweep Bantam AAA Trappers

SUDBURY, ON – The North Bay Bantam AAA Trappers fell 4-3 to the Sudbury Wolves in Northern Ontario Bantam AAA league play here on Sunday. Steven Levesque put the visitors ahead scoring five minutes into the first period. The Wolves evened the score at 1-1 to close out the frame. Sudbury jumped into a 3-1 lead through two periods of play. Trappers’ goalie Marc Audet was solid throughout giving his club every chance to stay in the game. Traven Reed pulled the Trappers within one early in the third period and Leveque made it 3-3 with less than nine minutes to play. Not to be outdone the Wolves countered with six minutes remaining and held on for the 4-3 win.

The Wolves collected four more points in the six point series as they managed 5-0 and 5-1 wins. Josh Ibbitson collected the Trappers’ loan goal in game two. Cole Leon was strong between the pipes taking his team into the third down 2-1.

The Trappers’ will play host to the same Sudbury Wolves in their next three game series January 8 and 9 at the West Ferris arena.
