Overtime was a time of celebration for the Sudbury Wolves throughout their Cinderella playoff run -- until tonight.

James Neal scored 3:22 into the first overtime to give the Plymouth Whalers a 3-2 victory as the Whalers eliminated the Sudbury Wolves four games to two and captured the OHL championship in front of a disappointed Sudbury crowd Sunday night at the Sudbury arena.

The Wolves carried a 6-1 overtime record into the OHL championship series and improved that record to 7-1 with a 5-4 overtime victory in game three and at the time gave the Wolves a 2-1 lead in the series.

The Wolves then dropped a 3-1 decision to the Whalers on home ice and then lost back to back overtime games to end their impressive run and their season.

Nick Foligno and Justin Donati scored for the Wolf pack while Tom Sestito and Sean O'Connor had the other regulation time goals for Plymouth who will move on to represent the OHL in the Memorial Cup where they join Medicine Hat, Vancouver, and Lewiston at the event being held in Vancouver next weekend.
