Wildcats win Volleyball Tourney at Durham College

The Widdifield Wildcats swept their cross town rivals from Chippewa in two straight sets (25-22,25-20) at a Girls Volleyball tournament at Durham College in Oshawa on Wednesday.

The Widdifield Wildcats swept their cross town rivals from Chippewa in two straight sets (25-22,25-20) at a Girls Volleyball tournament at Durham College in Oshawa on Wednesday.

The Wildcats Julia Knox was named the tournament MVP, while teammates Shonna Chadbourne (middle hitter) and Leesa Church (left side) were both named to the tournament all-star team.

The Wildcats finished first in pool play and defeated Weldon in two sets (25-10, 25-21) in the semi-final to make it to the final.

The local club is coached by Dan Gosselin and Mark Hopper.
