Wildcats sneak by the Braves

The Widdifield Wildcat Senior Football team defeated the Northern Braves 11-7 in a hard fought game before a big crowd at Widdifield Senior Secondary field on Friday afternoon. The Cats scored first when Jonas Wacker hit a 30 yard field goal.

The Cats scored first when Jonas Wacker hit a 30 yard field goal. Northern answered back when Joel Young caught a 15 yard pass from QB Marc St Onge. Northern took that 7-3 lead with them into the half.

In the second half the Wildcats defense dug in and held the Braves off the scoresheet, and Andrew Pessah broke off a long touchdown run to put the Cats ahead for good.

Wacker converted and Mike Costello punted for a single. Costello lead the way defensively with 2 interceptions and Jeremy Roy lead in Tackles. The Cats victory improves their record to 2-1 as they head to West Ferris under the lights next Friday.
