Wildcats claim Sudbury tournament title

The Widdifield Sr. Boys basketball team traveled to Sudbury this weekend to compete in the 12-team Jaak Valiot Memorial tournament. The Senior Wildcats went undefeated - winning all 5 of their games to capture the championship.
The Widdifield Sr. Boys basketball team traveled to Sudbury this weekend to compete in the 12-team Jaak Valiot Memorial tournament.

The Senior Wildcats went undefeated - winning all 5 of their games to capture the championship.

The Wildcats played a tough LoEllen team in the semi's, beating them 59-47. High scorer was Brayden Burke with 16 points.

Widdifield played Notre Dame from Sudbury in the Championship game. The Cats won 61-51 and never trailed in the contest. The high scorer was Mike Costello with 24 points and Tieler Gravelle chipped in with 15.

Wildcats head coach Shawn Plamondon felt the entire Widdifield squad played with intensity and determination which definitely earned the Cats the tournament Championship.
