The Widdifield Wildcats Senior football team lost to Barrie Eastview Saturday morning 8-3 at Wilfred Laurier's Knight-Newbrough Field. The Eastview Wildcats scored the only touchdown of the game late in the first half to break a scoreless tie. The convert was blocked. Both teams played excellent defensively and special teams played well all game. The Cats Dan Cobbledick kicked a short field goal mid way through the second half to cut the margin in half.

Shortly after that the Cats Tieler Gravelle intentionally gave a up a safety to improve field position.

Despite the low score, coaches were very pleased with the Cats offensively as they were facing a very strong defence, the Barrie Wildcats are perennial contenders in their own league. Standouts for the Wildcats were Jeremy Roy and Jordan Prud'homme. The Wildcats open their season this Friday against the West Ferris Trojans.
