West Ferris Spartans capture silver

NIAGARA FALLS, ON. - West Ferris Spartans Juvenile Basketball team captured Silver over the weekend at Red Raider Tournament in Niagara Falls. In their 1st game they defeated Grimsby 88-48.
NIAGARA FALLS, ON. - West Ferris Spartans Juvenile Basketball team captured Silver over the weekend at Red Raider Tournament in Niagara Falls.

In their 1st game they defeated Grimsby 88-48. All 11 players scored with Sam Levac and Charlie Hancock leading the way with 14 points each. Brady Facette and Tyler Cameron added 10 each. Othe scorers were Detlev Himmelman 9, Michael Cuncins 7, Jake Tougas 7, Spencer Brear 6, Joey Puddister 5, Chris Kangur 2, Curtis Devlin 2 and Breaden Stevenson 2.

In their 2nd game they defeated IEM Newmarket 68-48.
Hancock led the way with 17 points. Levac added 14 and Brady Facette and Tougas had 8 points each.

In their last round robin game they were defeated by Sudbury 63-59. Sam Levac was high scorer with 15 point and Tougas added 7 points.

In the semi-finals the Spartans defeated the Leamington Cougars 68-63. Tyler Cameron was on fire scoring a game high 15 points for the Spartans. Levac added 13 and Joey Puddister and Hancock each contributed 11 points for the Green and White.

In the Championship game the Spartans had a rematch with Sudbury in all Northern final. The Spartans held 32-21 half time lead. The 3rd quarter they were outsored 26-10 and lost 68-60. Once again Hancock and Levac led the way with 18 and 17 points respectively. Joey Puddister chipped in with 10 points.

The Spartans are off until May 29-31 when they travel to Oshawa to compete in the All-Ontario Basketball Championships.
